Rotations
The Clarkson Family Medicine Residency offers a broad and flexible clinical curriculum,
which can be individualized to each resident’s professional needs. Our residents
usually work one-on-one with an attending physician to admit patients and manage
their care. These close interactions with primary care physicians and specialists
allow for exceptional learning and a cooperative community hospital atmosphere.
We emphasize training that will prepare you for a broad scope of practice, enabling
you to develop the medical and procedural skills for a variety of patients and levels
of acuity. You may customize your schedule to pursue areas of interest such as obstetrics,
endoscopies, women’s health, rural and underserved populations.
We utilize The Nebraska Medical Center
for most clinical rotations and for in-house call. Children’s Hospital & Medical Center is our site for inpatient
pediatrics, pediatric emergency room, neonatal intensive care unit and an elective
month. Alegent Health
Midland’s Community Hospital is used for the emergency medicine rotation-
an elective in trauma is also available. We require two month long rural and urban
rotations. The first is in
West Point, Nebraska during the HOII year. Many residents use their second
rural rotation to scout a future practice site.
